House Passes Two Bills to Halt Transgender Interventions for Minors

Separate pieces of legislation remove Medicaid funding and criminalize sex-rejecting procedures.

The House of Representatives approved two bills this week to halt medical interventions for minors who experience gender dysphoria. Congressman Dan Crenshaw of Texas introduced the legislation that prohibits Medicaid funding from being used on sex-rejecting treatments.

“The American people deserve accountability in how their taxpayer dollars are spent,” Representative Crenshaw stated after introducing the bill in January. “Using Medicaid funds for unproven and irreversible procedures on minors is not only medically irresponsible but also a betrayal of public trust.”

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia introduced the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” which makes surgeries and puberty-blocking prescriptions a class C felony, unless such treatments are medically necessary.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the Senate as they consider the measures passed by the House.
  • For U.S. officials as they seek to protect children from irreversible treatments for gender dysphoria.
